Editorial note

Site24x7 suits a freelancer or small business that wants to start on a free tier of 50 monitors, then pay $10 a month for 25 monitors with a status page on the entry plan. Checkly and Hyperping each charge $24, billed annually, for 50 monitors, so the 0.4 USD per monitor here is below their 0.48. Montastic has the same free tier at a lower 0.33 USD per monitor, but its checks are never faster than 60 seconds. This plan reaches 30 seconds on a higher tier. Two catches: entry checks run every 60 seconds, and the entry allowance is smaller than at Checkly or Hyperping, which check every 30 seconds from the first paid plan.
